There are a number of events going on around the Twin Cites area this weekend. To highlight a few:
Twin Cities Pride is coming to the cities this weekend.
Last year's celebration came just two days after the U.S. Supreme Court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act and just four weeks before same-sex couples could marry in Minnesota.
The events start with The Beer Dabbler at Loring Park on Friday, which runs from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. The events at the park continue with a festival held all day Saturday.
One of the main attractions of Pride is the Ashley Rukes GLBT Pride Parade, which is scheduled for Sunday.
A few roads will close for the parade, starting at 8 a.m.
Minnesota Food Truck Fair
These streets will reopen following the parade at about 3 p.m. Sunday. Thousands of people are expected to be out in Uptown Sunday for the Minnesota Food Truck Fair. It runs Sunday from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. The event is free, but you have to pay for the food you want.
Twin Cities Jazz Festival
The Twin Cities Jazz Festival is underway in St. Paul's Lowertown neighborhood at Mears Park. There are outdoor, free concerts Friday and and Saturday.
