Idina Menzel to Sing National Anthem at All-Star Game

Tony Award-winning singer Idina Menzel will sing the U.S. National Anthem and perform during a pre-game ceremony at the MLB All-Star Game at Target Field next week. Menzel is most well known from Disney's 'Frozen'.

Menzel will sing “Forever Young” by 11-time Grammy-Award winner, and Minnesota native, Bob Dylan during the pre-game ceremony honoring the 30 winners in the All-Star Teachers program. The program awards teachers who have made an impact on their students' lives. Those winners will be recognized on-field with the 2014 MLB All-Star players and managers.

As part of the All-Star Game, the Canadian Anthem will be performed by the Minnesota Orchestra Brass Quintet and God Bless America will be sung by American country music artist Joe Nichols.

All-Star Concert Saturday

Grammy Award winning artists Imagine Dragons will headline the 2014 Target All-Star Concert with musical guest, Minnesota-based Atmosphere, on Saturday, July 12, as part of MLB All-Star Week. A special fireworks show will be conducted immediately following the concert.

All-Star Sunday

Also joining the roster of musical performances during MLB All-Star Week is Panic! At the Disco, who will perform on-field prior to the All-Star Legends & Celebrity Softball Game at Target Field on July 13 as part of All-Star Sunday. The All-Star Legends & Celebrity Softball Game will be televised by ESPN at approximately 10:30 p.m. ET immediately following the Home Run Derby. 

Home Run Derby

The MLB All-Star Musical Performance will feature singer/songwriter Aloe Blacc on-field prior to the Home Run Derby on July 14 on ESPN. 

Aloe Blacc’s special on-field performance will first feature “Wake Me Up” on MLB Network at approximately 7:50 p.m. ET, followed by “Can You Do This,” which will air on ESPN prior to the start of the Home Run Derby. Jose Bautista of the Toronto Blue Jays and Troy Tulowitzki of the Colorado Rockies have been named captains of the American League and National League squads for the Derby. Blacc will also perform at the MLB All-Star Gala.
