Alan Hoglund is happier than ever to be living in Duluth. He joined the Eyewitness News team in June of 2010. He was eager to get started in a career that matched his education and experience.

Alan graduated from Bethel University in the Twin Cities in May of 2010 with a degree in Media Communication. He didn't think about a career in media until well into college. Through getting involved with the media program at Bethel, it became something to think about seriously. "I have always been interested in the media, but in college I realized the importance of informing the public about news that affects their everyday life." Alan said.

In college Alan took a news and production internship at KTLK FM in the Twin Cities, which sparked his interest in current events. A few months later he started an internship at KSTP-TV. The experience confirmed his feeling that he wanted to go into journalism.

Back on campus, Alan continued to be active in media and during his senior year he worked as the News Director, Audio Engineer and Producer for WBCS Television & Radio.

Long before Alan became a news guy, he was a singer--singing since he was 12. He has traveled the world with numerous choral organizations and won 3rd place in Bethel University's 2010 Concerto/Aria competition. He says he will always continue to sing.

When Alan gets a bit of free time, he loves to spend time with his wife Annie, his two brothers and parents, and catching up on national and political current events.
