Here's an interesting twist to the way Northanders are responding to devastation caused by the floods this summer--a celebration.  An event in Brookston Wednesday night celebrated the Northland's fighting spirit.

The gathering acknowledged the determination of people to not let those tragic events break us.  Pastor Don Ludemann moved from Little Falls to Brookston in August.  It's a rural town about 30 minutes west of Duluth. Ludemann arrived at his new church only to learn the flash floods impacted more than just the Twin Ports.
Ludemann told Eyewitness News, "when I arrived, I realized the floods were causing terrible heartache for these people.  But they're tough, resilient and we are celebrating that strength with a service of hope and healing."
Wednesday's event included special music, an interactive experience with a water-colored canvas and a message of hope for the future.
