Not many people know what goes on behind closed doors on Captiol Hill in Washington D.C. But two Minnesota authors give readers a first hand look at what goes on in a U.S. Senate office.
Co-author of the new book "Capitol Hell," Jayne Jones stopped by Good Morning Northland Friday to talk about her new novel that she co-wrote with Alicia Long.
Both Jones and Long worked on former Senator Norm Coleman's staff from 2002 to 2009. Their book "Capitol Hell" also follows two women who go off to Washington to work for a Minnesota senator, and all the crazy stories that go along with working in a politician's office, Jones said.
The inspiration for the novel came to Jones as her and long were sitting around remember stories from their time working with Sen. Coleman, Jones said. Friends of theirs always told them they should write a book, she said. And four years later, "Capitol Hell" was released.
If you want to meet the authors and get a copy of "Capitol Hell," stop by their book signing at Barnes & Noble at the Miller Hill Mall from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
