If you're looking for a new pet to give a 'forever home' to, you'll want to check out the Love-A-Pet event this weekend in Duluth.

The annual, national event kicked off on Saturday at Duluth's Miller Hill Subaru store. The annual adoption drive is hosted by Duluth's Animal Allies Humane Society and the Humane Society of Douglas County.

The organizations are hoping to give people a chance to meet that perfect cat or dog who so desperately needs a good home.

As part of the national effort, the event features no-fee cat and kitten adoptions, $125 dog adoptions, Holiday Pet Photos by Duluth Camera Exchange for $30, and free micro-chipping with a donation from the wish list.

Items collected will be distributed to participating shelters.

The Love-a-Pet Event runs on Nov. 10-11 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
