Gilbert police officer Hal Henning said that the need for gifts for kids on the Iron Range seems to be growing.

So he and the fire chief in Virginia got together, and came up with the "Stuff the Ambulance" project.

The Virginia ambulance service will have a vehicle parked in the McDonalds parking lot, Friday-Sunday, from 9am-9pm.

Folks are encouraged to bring gifts for kids to the ambulance.

"If we get ten gifts, we'll help ten kids. If we get 1000 gifts, we'll help 1000 kids," said Henning. "We wanted to be visible during the Black Friday shopping season."

McDonalds has offered to give out a free happy meal coupon to those who donate.
