A Thunder Bay, Ont. man faces a charge after a police officer observed him traveling at more than 230 kilometers per hour (143 miles per hour).
An Ontario Provincial Police officer spotted the alleged speeder last Wednesday in a 90 kph (55 mph) speed zone on the Thunder Bay Expressway (Highway 11/17). Police caught up with the driver near Balsam Street after he was unable to exit due to heavy traffic at an off-ramp.
The 53-year-old motorcyclist is charged with stunt driving and could lose his license for two years, if convicted. His license was immediately suspended and his motorcycle was impounded for seven days.
