Traffic was snarled up for several hours on Tuesday night after two axles broke off from a semi-tractor-trailer.
The accident happened in the southbound lane of Interstate-35 near the 40th Avenue West exit. The Minnesota State Patrol said the semi had been slowing down for another vehicle that was having problems when it's own trailer broke.
The rig, which was traveling from Thunder Bay, Ontario to Kansas, was carrying rolls of paper. The accident caused the paper to scatter across the roadway for a time.
Crews were still trying to clear the scene more than three hours after the accident.
