A person wearing a Halloween mask robbed a bank in the small northern Minnesota town of Kelliher on Monday.
The robbery happened just ebfore 2:30 p.m. at the First State Bank of Big Fork branch on Main Street in Kelliher. Witnesses say the person wearing a white plastic Halloween-type ghost mask showed a shotgun and demanded cash from a bank employee. The robber fled on foot, but authorities believe a smaller passenger car may have been involved.
The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office is asking citizens to report anyone who suddenly has a large amount of cash with no apparent source. Anyone with information should call 218-333-9111.
16 local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies assisted the sheriff's office in the investigation.
