Jim Carlson told Eyewitness News that he expects to be arrested within a month.
The owner of the Last Place on Earth said that he's not afraid of being arrested.
Carlson's attorney Randall Tigue said they have drawn the conclusion about the impending arrest based on federal court documents.
Tigue said Carlson has sued the federal government, for the same reasons he sued the city of Duluth. This is related to the raid on his shop in 2011, where authorities took over $80,000 worth of guns, money, and synthetic drugs. No charges have been filed. And another raid took place in July of this year.
In the government's response to the lawsuit, they asked for more time to respond. Tigue said the response indicated that a federal indictment is possible, and that authorities would like the civil case to be put off until a potential criminal one is resolved.
In particular, the government wants the response deadline extended until January 9th. Tigue said that's a suggestion that Carlson may be indicted before that day.
