Snowmobiler Dies in Sawyer Co.

Searchers found the body of a missing snowmobiler in the Chippewa Flowage on the morning of Christmas Eve.

A caller reported Steven Sisko missing around 5 a.m. Monday, saying Sisko had gone snowmobiling on the Chippewa Flowage and had not returned home.  The Sawyer County Sheriff's Office organized a search.  At around 11 a.m., a Lifelink Helicopter crew reported seeing what looked like a hole in the ice and someone lying in it.

Members of the Hayward Fire Department were able to locate Sisko's body using an airboat.
