Just before noon, Sheriff’s Office dispatch received a call that a male party was found lying on the Bigfork River next to a snowmobile and was believed to be deceased.

Deputies confirmed that the male party found was that of the missing snowmobiler and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim is identified as 38 year old Daniel Hollinday from Bigfork.

The Investigation at the scene indicates that the snowmobile hit a large rock on the shore of the river and Hollinday was thrown from the snowmobile into some smaller rocks on the shoreline.
