U.S. Representative-elect Rick Nolan, D-Minnesota, has named former opponent Jeff Anderson as his District Director.

Anderson, an Ely native and former Duluth City Council president, ran against Nolan in the primary election but later worked on his general election campaign.  As Nolan's District Director, Anderson will oversee Congressional offices planned for Duluth, Brainerd, the Iron Range, and undetermined locations in the southern portion of the 8th Congressional District.

Nolan also named Jim Swiderski as his Washington Legislative Director, Jodie Torkelson as Deputy Chief of Staff in Washington, Ione Yates as Chief Scheduler, and Steve Johnson as Communications Director.

Nolan defeated Rep. Chip Cravaack (R-North Branch) in the November election.
