A man was able to escape unharmed after a fire started in a bedroom of his Duluth home early Wednesday morning.
The Duluth Fire Department said it was called to a home at 2631 West Fourth Street shortly after 1 a.m. Wednesday. When crews arrived, authorities said a bedroom in the home was on fire.
The home's lone occupant was able to escape uninjured after trying to put out the home with a fire extinguisher.
Crews were able to contain the blaze to that one bedroom where the fire started, the fire department said. No other injuries were reported. The damage is estimated at $15,000 to $20,000.
The fire department said the blaze is not considered suspicious. But they are investigating to find a cause of the blaze.
