It’s official – the former Virginia Regional Medical Center (VRMC) is now part of Essentia Health.
In recent months, leaders from both VRMC and Essentia have been working hard to ensure a smooth transition.
Wednesday morning, Essentia administrators were in Virginia, welcoming employees to the organization.
“By coming together, we achieve all the benefits of integrated health care,” says Dan McGinty, Essentia Health’s East Region Chief Administrative Officer. “The real winners here are our patients and the community.”
Signs are starting to go up with the hospital’s new name: Essentia Health-Virginia. It’s part of a medical campus that includes Essentia Health-Virginia Clinic (located next to the hospital) and Essentia Health-Virginia Medical Arts Clinic (located within the hospital).
Dan Milbridge is serving as interim administrator for the hospital and clinics, while Dr. Michelle Oman is medical director.
A new Board of Directors, made up of community members and Essentia representatives, will have its first meeting this month. As part of a non-profit organization, the Board meetings are not open to the public.
