On Monday night, the Duluth School Board unloaded several unused parcels of real estate to interested buyers.
The board voted unanimously to sell a residential property it acquired as part of the Long Range Facilities Plan in Congdon Park. The district also has a potential buyer for two lots on West Arrowhead Road, and also voted to proceed with that sale on Monday as well.
Properties Manager Kerry Leider said the board has been actively looking for buyers for these and other properties.
"I think it is a top priority to sell unused properties and get revenue streams to offset the cost of the Long Range Plan," Leider said.
On Monday, the board also voted on new leadership roles.
Tom Kasper was voted in as the new chairperson of the school board, and Bill Westholm will serve as vice chair. Judy Seliga-Punyko was voted treasurer and Mike Miernicki has been voted in as board clerk.
