Midway Township could soon be on it's way to becoming part of the City of Duluth.
The Duluth City Council met Wednesday during an agenda meeting to discuss the adoption of the Joint Resolution, which would allow for future annexation of all of Midway Township. The resolution sets up a framework for how the process of annexation would work.
Councilor Garry Krause questioned vague language used in the resolution, such as "urbanization," which under the agreement would lead to annexation.
"I'm a little worried that we'd run into a stalemate because we may perceive that an area is becoming more urban or suburban and the township may say, 'no, we don't feel it's near that point,'" said Councilor Krause.
Both the Duluth City Council and Midway Township will vote on the Joint Resolution on Monday, January 14th.
