A reunion is right around the corner for a dog found in Superior and his family from way down south.

Meet Endo. Betsy Bode with Superior's Animal Allies Shelter explained more on Endo's story on Friday.

"[The family has] been missing him for about two years now, and they were absolutely ecstatic that he was still good to go and so excited to get him home," Bode said.

The 115-pound mastiff turned up as a stray in Superior last week, all the way from Cape Coral, Florida. About two years ago, he and another dog from the family broke free from the yard's fence near the Everglades. The family feared the worst, believing Endo was attacked by an alligator.

As for now, no one knows how Endo ended up in Superior, but thanks to a microchip in his shoulder, he will be reunited with his family soon.

Endo starts his road trip to Florida next Wednesday.
