People are excited about the new terminal. It is bright, shiny and new. That is leaving an impression on travelers like Burke Scarbrough.
“The whole thing is brighter and sunnier so our first impression is it's a big improvement,” Scarbrough said.
Scarbrough and his wife left from the old terminal before the holidays. When they returned they didn't recgonize their surroundings.
“It took us a minute to realize that things look so different,” Scarbrough said.
Windows with etchings of birch trees and displays of local history add a new touch to the terminal, but Scarbrough is thankful for a revamped cafe.
“In the old terminal you had a choice between the banana or the danish, and now it looks like there's more on offer,” Scarbrough said.
Travelers that were boarding flights agreed. Jim Forsberg said checking in was painless.
“It's very nice. Everything is just set-up very pleasantly here. It's going to be used a lot I'm sure,” Forsberg said.
Travelers enjoyed the new experiences and they all add up to something more.
“It certainly feels like a much more substantial terminal than it was before,” Scarbrough said. “It makes me proud to live in Duluth.”
