In a few months Northland high schoolers will be heading to prom, and two Duluth businesses are teaming up to make the event more affordable.
Lundeen Productions and Arthur's Formal Wear set up a Prom Shopping Spectacular in an empty storefront in Duluth's Piedmont neighborhood.
There are about 400 gently-used or new prom dresses inside offering girls the opportunity to buy a dress while spending less money. Organizers were happy to share the experience with shoppers.
"Their faces just light up," Breanna Johnson, with Lundeen Productions, said. "They are just glowing when they put on these beautiful dresses. It's so much fun to watch them have a good time trying them on and really finding the one that fits them the best."
There is still time to consign a dress or buy one. You can drop off dresses at Arthur's Formal Wear until Thursday.
The Prom Shopping Spectacular will be open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
The store is located between Arthur's Formal Wear and Big Daddy's Burgers in Duluth.
