Minn. DNR Proposes Changes to Endangered Species List

ROCHESTER, Minn. (AP) - Minnesota wildlife officials will be discussing proposed changes to the state's endangered-species list in the next two weeks, starting with a hearing this week in Rochester.
    
A Rochester Post-Bulletin report says the first public hearing is Tuesday evening. Four other hearings are also scheduled in New Ulm, Bemidji, Duluth and Plymouth.

The hearing in Duluth will take place on Feb. 6th at the Gitchee Gumee Conference Center, 6201 Congdon Blvd. It starts at 6 p.m.

The state Department of Natural Resources is proposing to remove 15 plants and 14 animals from the list, while adding 114 plants and 67 animals.
    
People who want to comment on the proposed changes will be allowed to present testimony at the hearings. A list of the changes is available by clicking here.
