The Koochiching County man who pleaded guilty to murdering his wife has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.
According to the prosecutor, the 15-year sentence for Carl Muggli is the maximum under the guidelines for this crime. The 51-year-old originally told authorities a totem pole fell on his wife, Linda Muggli in November of 2010.
In January, he pleaded guilty to a second degree unintentional murder charge.
The couple had been well-known totem pole carvers from the town of Ray.
