Plenty of folks were hitting the treadmills on Wednesday in the name of physical fitness for adults with disabilities.
The day marks UDAC's sixth annual 'Walk a Mile in Our Shoes" event. The fundraiser supports the STEPS Fitness Center in Duluth, a safe place for vulnerable or disabled adults to exercise.
UDAC Job Coach Brooke Krafthefer said people sometimes forgot physical fitness is still important for adults with these challenges.
"Not a lot of people are very familiar with vulnerable adults or adults with special needs so being able to come to our facility and use our machines along with our consumers really helps familiarize them," Krafthefer said.
And once again, folks were able to log their mile in Duluth's Skywalk System. The Skywalk opened up for the Walk a Mile event last year and is back by popular demand.
