Players from UMD's Women's Basketball team are certainly making the cut--not only for the team, but for Locks of Love.
On Friday night, three players from the team, along with about 15 other woman, lined up for a serious trim.
Each woman cut at least eight inches from their hair to donate to the non-profit organization, which provides hairpieces for sick children who can't afford them.
On Thursday evening, UMD Women's Basketball Head Coach Annette Wiles explained that she'd gotten the idea after seeing an opposing team do something similar. She said it was a contribution that she's never forgotten.
"This is just a great opportunity and something we're very eager to support," Wiles said.
