Have you ever heard anyone say, "We need to keep our young people from moving away?" Perhaps you have said it yourself. On Thursday night, an organization, TwinPortsConnex, is helping do that.
Gathering at Duluth's Zeitgeist Café, young adults are learning they can connect with mentors in the local business community to find success here economically.
That includes people like Molly Tomfohrde, who is just about ready to graduate from UMD.
"I hope through TwinPortsConnex I can get a lot of networking opportunities.... [and] that I can get to know more of the culture of Duluth, and hopefully some career opportunities can come up and I can support Duluth just like it has supported me throughout my four years here already," Tomfohrde said.
TwinPortsConnex wants employers to help arrange internships and connect mentors with mentees to keep the best and brightest in the twin ports.
