Dance teams across the Northland will be busting some moves on stage to fight cancer this weekend.
Seven years ago, Leigha Wallin help create the "Dancing Against Cancer" event. The seventh annual event happens this Sunday at Black Bear Casino starting at 3 p.m.
Wallin stopped by Good Morning Northland Friday to talk about how she got it all started seven years ago. Wallin said back then she was part of a dance group and thought of the idea.
Performers this year include the Elite Dance Productions, dreamdance Academy, Desert Caravan Dance Troupe, Becky Schneberger’s Dance Studio, UMD Dance Team, Beledi Middle Eastern Dancers, Duluth Dance Center and Wallin herself.
Tickets for the event are $5. One hundred percent of the proceeds go to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
