It's not everyday you see a house moving down the road.
That was the scene today in the Town of Bennett in central Douglas County. Believe it or not it only took about 20 minutes to move the building two miles, crossing Highway 53 in the process.
Scott and Peggy Jensen own the home and have for the last 15 years. They told Eyewitness News they use it as a cabin. They faced a big decision when it started sinking into the swamp.
"[We're] going to sell it or restore it or try to save it. So we bought some other land and that is what we're in the process of doing is moving it to some higher ground," Scott Jensen said.
Crews had to move about 10 power lines to allow the house enough room as it went down the road, headed to a site where a new foundation was waiting.
This wasn't the first time the home has been moved. It was originally used as a train station.
