Authorities arrested a 24-year-old man after deputies said he robbed a Carlton liquor store with a knife.

Before 10 p.m. Saturday, the Carlton County Sheriff's Office said the Tall Pines Liquor clerk reported an armed robbery. The clerk said a man approached the counter with a knife and said, "This is a robbery; give me the money."

An undisclosed amount of money was given to the man before he ran from the scene.

Deputies arrested the suspect later at a home in Carlton. He's being held at the Carlton County Jail awaiting formal charges. Deputies said he's being held on aggravated robbery, second degree assault and terroristic threat charges.

The Minnesota State Patrol, Fond Du Lac Police Department and Cloquet Police Department assisted in the investigation.
