Duluth's first homicide case of the year has resulted in another arrest of man who allegedly helped the suspect.

Duluth Police Public Information Officer Jim Hansen said the boyfriend to the suspect's mother was booked in jail on Friday on charges of aiding an offender by obstructing an investigation.

The 33-year-old Duluth man has not actually been charged in court yet. That's expected to happen through St. Louis County sometime early next week.

Police believe the man was not at the home when the murder of 27-year-old Bryan Starnes took place in his Lincoln Park home on March 9. However, police believe the man did allegedly sell items stolen by the murder suspect from the home.

The suspect, 17-year-old Enrique Giner, has been charged with second degree murder. He allegedly sold a Playstation 3 and a hookah pipe from Starnes' home. The man arrested on Friday, his mother's boyfriend, is accused of selling those items, profiting from the theft, lying to police and withholding information.

Officer Hansen said police still consider this investigation to be active.
