A bobcat rescued north of Two Harbors Sunday is taking small steps towards recovery.
Linda Nervick found Bob the cat walking slowly along a highway. She noticed he was limping and extremely skinny. The animals behavior was also unusual, so she called Wildwoods Rehabilitation in Duluth.
Wildwoods transferred the cat to Wild and Free in Garrison, Minn. where they have the facility to handle bigger animals. The veterinarian there told Wildwoods Rehabilitation Founder Peggy Farr the cat would mostly likely die.
Two days later, the vet told Farr the cat is making slow progress. Farr said the cat is eating, but still extremely emaciated. Farr said they are cautiously optimistic, but it will be a good sign if Bob makes it through the next couple weeks.
