Until Sunday, your donations to held the hungry and homeless in Minnesota get multiplied.
March is Minnesota FoodShare month. Donate to a food shelf and that donation will be matched, either by the dollar or by the pound.
In Duluth, the Salvation Army says food shelf use in 2012 was up 45 percent from 2011. They say they gave five-day food supplies to nearly 9,000 people last year, which works out to be about 45,000 meals.
The Salvation Army said food needs have increased because of the June flooding. The organization also says some funding sources for food have been cut back or eliminated altogether.
