It has been a controversial subject for some new parents. But the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention want to make sure infants are getting immunized.
Dr. Melinda Wharton from the CDC stopped by Good Morning Northland Monday to talk about National Infant Immunization Week. She is also speaking at an event Monday morning at 10 a.m. at Essentia Health-Duluth Clinic's 1st Street Building.
And immunizations are not just for infants. Dr. Wharton said that in the last several years, there has been a push to recommend pregnant woman get certain vaccines such as influenza and pertussis.
Dr. Wharton has much more information to share. She will be speaking at the Celebration for Immunization Monday morning. The event begins at 10 a.m.
