Life is a journey. Some journeys inspire us, encourage us and help us achieve our own personal goals. That's the theme of this year's Ball for Boys and Girls.
The ball is the annual fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northland. This year, our own meteorologist Ben Dery is again the MC for the ball in May. Ball chair Jenn Ryan and vice chair Andy Donahue stopped by Good Morning Northland Tuesday to talk about the event.
More than 20 volunteers have worked for the last six months to put this year's Ball for Boys and Girls together, Ryan said. The goal this year is to raise $114,000 at the event.
Besides the silent and live auctions, the dinner and social hour, Ryan said the focus this year is on the kids. Four young people who have had their lives changed thanks to the Boys & Girls Clubs will tell their story, Ryan said.
The Ball for Boys and Girls happens May 16. It will be held at the Greysolon Ballroom by Blackwoods in Duluth. Social hour and the silent auction begin at 5:30 p.m. Dinner is at 7 p.m. and the program starts at 8 p.m.
For tickets call (218) 727-1549 or visit the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northland website.
