MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - A man was taken to the hospital after falling through ice on a pond near Maple Grove.
According to the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office, someone called 911 at about 8:05 p.m. Friday after a witness saw a man fall in the pond.
Sheriff's office spokeswoman Lisa Kiava told the Star Tribune (http://bit.ly/13AUDHW) the man was unconscious when he was pulled out between 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. He was taken to a local hospital.
At the time, lots of people were outside because of the warm weather in the area, which has walking and bicycle paths.
Kiava says detectives are trying to determine why he would go on the pond.
A voice message and email sent to Kiava seeking an update Saturday wasn't immediately returned.
