Duluth, Minn. - Both Al Sands and Gary Eyer have added accessories to their wardrobes...bright shiny championship belts.

This past Saturday night, both Duluth boxers won titles.

Sands points out that he is "Haitian-born and 2-1-8 built" and at Black Bear Casino, "The Haitian Temptation" fought great in the 2-1-8, knocking out Lucas St. Clair (2-2) in the first round to claim the vacant Minnesota Cruiserweight Title. Sands is now 9-1 and has won seven straight fights.

In the other headliner, Eyer went wire-to-wire with Blake Franklin (10-6-2) for the vacant NABU Lightweight Title. "Stone Cold" was crowned the champion after by split decision. He is now 11-2-1.

"Now, it (championship) is mine and I am not letting it go and it is a great feeling to have something to show everybody and something that recognizes myself as the State Champion, it is a great feeling," says Sands.

"It is awesome, it (belt) is heavy and really pretty and it is my favorite color (green) and everything," says Eyer.
