For 65 years, women around the Twin Ports gather for a time-honored tradition in Duluth, the Ports Cities Luncheon. Once again, the Woman of the Year will be named there as well.
Gloria Brunette helped organize this year's event. She stopped by Good Morning Northland Tuesday to talk about the luncheon, which takes place on May 8 at noon.
The Woman of the Year is the highlight of the Port Cities Luncheon, Brunette said. The award has been given away there since 1946.
This year's keynote speaker is Robin Washington. He is the editor of the Duluth News Tribune. Brunette said he is very interesting. She also had a little background details about Washington.
The Port Cities Luncheon is on May 8 at noon. This year it will be held at the Greysolon Ballroom.
Tickets are $18. For reservations and tickets call Elva at (218) 624-7629 or Jean at (218) 724-6372.
