MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minneapolis police say a suspect is dead after a shootout that injured two officers.
The incident erupted after the man fled a Friday afternoon traffic stop on the city's south side. The two officers were in stable condition in a nearby hospital.
Police said earlier that the shootout happened when the suspect was cornered in a home he had broken into.
Police Chief Janee Harteau called it a tragic situation.
Minneapolis police say a squad car on its way to that police shooting collided with a motorcycle, killing one person on the motorcycle and injuring another.
Police confirm in a Tweet that two people were on the motorcycle. One was killed and the other is being treated at Hennepin County Medical Center.
