Tower Avenue is under construction right now, but there is a conversation going on about what's next for downtown Superior.
The Douglas County Historical Society held a panel discussion today to look at revitalizing Superior's historical downtown. It was a time for community members to voice their ideas for the future of the area.
"The historical society deals with history a lot, but history often affects the future," said Kathy Laakso, the director of the Douglas County Historical Society. "And that's what we're interested in now. What is our downtown going to be like with downtown reconstruction?"
Laakso says Superior is getting new lighting, sidewalks, streets and boulevards.
The panel today was held in conjunction with the Historical Society's current exhibit. The exhibit focuses on the history of Superior's downtown.
