The Ashland Post Office has reopened after being closed for several hours following the discovery of a suspicious package in the lobby, according to Ashland Postmaster Mark Thimm.
Thimm said the suspicious item turned out to be a prepaid package someone brought in and left in the lobby to be mailed. They placed it with the mailing label down, and the post office was closed. Thimm said he would rather err on the side of caution.
The package was found to be harmless and the post office reopened around noon, according to Thimm.
Police Chief Greg Bebeau tells Eyewitness News the package was found just before 7 a.m.
