The three remaining defendants in the Last Place on Earth criminal case appeared in federal court Thursday.
They all pleaded not guilty to the charges in the newer indictment, which was filed to include the sale of more alleged illegal synthetic drugs. Their attorneys argued to have the case to dismissed.
Jim Carlson's lawyer said that his client is not legally responsible for people misusing a product. The prosecution countered the defendants did know the products would be misused.
Magistrate Leo Brisbois took many of the arguments under advisement.
Also, the second public nuisance case filed by the city is moving forward in the courts.
