Grand Rapids, MN – Lake Country Power line crews continue to  work to restore power throughout the Grand Rapids and Kettle River service areas. 7,000 Lake Country Power members were without power Friday morning, and nearly 1,600 are still without power.

Most of the outages in the Grand Rapids service area have been repaired, with a few scattered outages remaining. Areas near Kettle River were hit the hardest by last night's storm and winds.

Line crews will remain working into the evening until there is full restoration in all affected areas.

The majority of the outages are related to a transmission line issue that has cut power to Lake Country Power's Crooked Lake Substation and Nashwauk Substation.

Lake Country Power line crews will remain working to restore service as quickly and safely as possible.

Members may call the cooperative at 1-800-421-9959 for more information, or visit the Outage Center online at www.lakecountrypower.coop for a real-time outage status.
