Gooseberry Falls is a big tourist spot in the Northland, especially over summer holiday weekends.
Friday and Saturday brought close to a record number of visitors.
Assistant Park Manager Guy Lunz said the park probably saw close to 9,000 people each day, with parking lots and campsites full.
He said there are a couple of reasons people keep coming to the park year after year.
"Highway 61 is very busy and we're the first one on Highway 61," he said. "And also the falls. It's a very easy hike to some very pretty falls and scenery."
