A 22-year-old woman injured when her car hit a tree Sunday morning near Aurora is in fair condition. She was first transported to the hospital with critical injuries.
The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office identified the woman as Jasmine Kempffer, of the Brimson, Minnesota area.
Authorities responded to the accident at 6:40 a.m. They said Kempffer's car had left the road and struck a tree, and that she had to be extricated.
Kempffer is recovering at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
