An 18-year-old Duluth woman was killed in a car accident north of Two Harbors Saturday morning. She was identified as Megan Bailey, a recent graduate from Duluth East High School and former volleyball player.

The accident happened on the Drummond Grade near Stewart Lake. Lake County deputies said the vehicle went off the road along a steep embankment and struck multiple trees. They also said Bailey was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the car.

The accident is under investigation.

Bailey played for the Greyhounds volleyball team. The East High School activities director told Eyewitness News she "demonstrated perseverance and dedication on and off the court." He said the team will hold Bailey in their hearts as they head into the 2013 season.
