Lundeen Productions-ShowPro has been an entertainment and promotion staple in the Northland for 40 years now. Lundeen Productions was founded in 1973, and owner Tracy Lundeen is very excited about the 40th anniversary event they are putting on Thursday, August 1st, at Clyde Iron Works.
"We've got some of the old music groups getting together, including my own which should be interesting!" Tracy says. There will be a multimedia slideshow of many of the events and promotions that Lundeen Productions worked on throughout the years. The slideshow and music portion of the event will begin at 7:00 PM, doors open for a social hour at 6:00 PM.
Lundeen Productions was involved in a large part of the music scene in Duluth. They brought Willie Nelson and the Beach Boys to Wade Stadium. They were at the forefront of the creation of Bayfront Festival Park. Fourth-Fest and the Bayfront Blues Festival were major ShowPro efforts created after the park was built.
Lundeen Productions, besides being an entertainer, has also be heavily involved in charity. They raised over $10,000 for local charities through the Great Music Marathon during the 1980's. From 2010-2012 they donated $15,000 through the Engwalls Corn Maze to regional charities including Animal Allies, Second Harvest, Coats for Kids and more.
If you're interested in the history of entertainment in Duluth, definitely head down to Clyde Iron Works Thursday night, August 1st. Doors open at 6:00 PM, the event starts at 7:00 PM.
