ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Mike McFadden, a Republican running to challenge Democrat Al Franken for U.S. Senate next year, says he's worth at least $15 million and up to $57 million.
McFadden is a Twin Cities businessman who led a financial management firm before running for office. Democratic groups and one of his Republican challengers have made an issue of his wealth, including comparisons to GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney.
McFadden's campaign gave The Associated Press a copy of a federally required financial disclosure before filing it with the U.S. Senate. A spokesman says the form will be filed later Friday.
The report shows McFadden earned $2.4 million in salary and bonuses from his company Lazard Middle Market between January 2012 and July 2013.
Franken's filing estimates assets of $4 million to $12 million.
