Jay Cooke State Park's Highway 210 was wiped out during last June's heavy flooding. Thursday, how, and if, to rebuild it was the topic of discussion at a public forum.
Sponsored by the Arrowhead Regional Development Commission, the meeting was attended by dozen of community members.
The Director of the Regional Planning Division of ARDC, says that most people certainly want it rebuilt in some form or fashion.
"Most people want the highway to exist in that section," said Andy Hubley. "In an ideal world, it would be in the same spot it was, and be just like it was.
"They view it as a community asset, and even if it can't be built in the exact same fashion, or the exact same location they do want some connection and access to those facilities."
But Hubley says the rebuilding process still doesn't have a timetable.
Thursday's forum, was the first of the public input phase. They also have to secure funding for the project, some of which could still come from the Long Term Recovery Fund.
