Before classes start Tuesday, some college students used their last day of freedom to race cardboard boats.
The International Pirates team had a solid strategy.
"We have a simple principal," said team member Prashant Burlakoti. "Use duct tape, and duct tape it more."
The International Pirates team was made up of students from Nepal, Sweden, Denmark and Brazil. They started building their cardboard boat at noon Sunday. They spent about five hours, and a lot of duct tape, on it. Burlakoti said there's no better way to spend their last day of summer.
"Just before college starts, what's the best thing to do?" he said. "Go out on a bridge, build your own boat, and get on it and row as fast as you can."
Burlakoti was confident that his team would come out on top.
"Oh, we are going to win, we are going to win," he said. "We are for sure. We are going to win."
