BEIJING (AP) — Dennis Rodman has left North Korea and says his visit with autocratic leader Kim Jong Un did not include making a plea for the release of imprisoned American Kenneth Bae.
Despite earlier calling on Kim to set Bae free, the retired NBA star said the Christian missionary's fate was none of his business. Speaking to reporters upon arriving at the airport in China's capital, Rodman said: "Guess what? That's not my job to ask about Kenneth Bae."
Rodman did show off a stack of photos of himself dining and socializing with Kim Jong Un, saying they had formed a close bond over his two visits to the isolated communist dictatorship. Rodman called Kim his "friend for life" and said he doesn't care what the rest of the world thinks of the North Korean leader.
